Please take a moment to review my pages on housing before making your decision.

RESCUE RABBITS  - These rabbits may include abandoned animals, rabbits with special needs or simply those in need of rehoming due to families that have moved or children who have lost interest.   We accept rescues only as quarantine space permits.  Rabbits born here or those with a veterinarian's request have first preference for space available.

A very old breed that has fallen substantially in numbers in the U.S.and is in danger of extinction  This rabbit has a luxurious rollback coat of fur, mandolin body type and fabulous personality.

Weighing in at 8 to 12 pounds it is a substantial Teddy bear and makes a great pet.  This is truly a multipurpose animal once raised for fur and meat and now regarded as a rare breed it is primarily a pet and show rabbit.          The soft silky fur is unlike any other breed.

These rabbits are found in Blue Eyed White, black, blue and chocolate (not recognized for show).   We raise all 4 colors. There are only a handful of breeders on the West Coast with these stunning animals.

LILAC # 10 on the Rare Breed List  $60 - We do offer a $10 discount for members of 4H, FFA or ARBA. Once bred primarily as a commercial meat rabbit, these have become one of the scarcest breeds in the U.S.  These rabbits are not only lovely in appearance but in temperament as well.  They weigh 5-1/2 to 8 pounds.  Since they only come in one color it takes little cages space to raise them for show.  Very good natured and they make excellent Mothers.  If you want a bunny not common as a pet or show bunny, this is the perfect rabbit for you. Photos don't do these rabbits justice. DSC01013.JPG (354280 bytes) Must see in person.

If you are looking for a 4H project that not many kids have, these are the ticket.  Very sweet, good Mothers and fabulous pets.  I can usually put together unrelated pairs or trios.

The Field Guide to Rabbits by Samantha Johnson

DSC01003.JPG (339901 bytes)

$19.95 plus tax

This is the most exciting book on rabbits I have seen in years.  It is not only beautifully produced but well researched and full of valuable information for pet owners, rescues, pet stores, breeders, 4H and FFA members.

Topics include history, nostalgia, fur varieties, color descriptions with full color photos, descriptions of the various shapes of rabbits, weight ranges of the various breeds,  recognizing illness, bunny behavior, house rabbits, show rabbits, rabbits having babies, Breed profiles of the 47  breeds recognized by the American Rabbit Breeder's Association as well some of the breeds under development.  Each Breed profile includes recognized colors, weights, American Livestock Breed's Conservancy status for rare and endangered breeds.  Truly a fine piece of work.  Well written, concise yet fully detailed.  Kudo's to the author for a fine job on a huge undertaking!

HOW TO RAISE RABBITS by Samantha Johnson

Another terrific book for the rabbit lover's library. Whether you have a pet, a show bunny or breeding stock this book has all  you need to know. FFA instructors are using this a classroom text book.
